Occupancy rate

Occupancy rate is the percent of a billboard company’s available face time that is sold.

Occupancy tells you how full your inventory is. Compare what you could sell with what you did sell, for the same period.

Count face-weeks, not just faces. A face sold for two of four weeks is 50% full for that period. For digital faces, count slots.

Occupancy and rate work together. A full board at a low rate can earn less than a busy board at a strong rate. That is why operators also track yield.

Formula

Occupancy rate = sold face-weeks ÷ available face-weeks × 100

Example

Riverbend Outdoor has 40 faces. A four-week period gives 160 face-weeks. It sold 128, so occupancy is 128 ÷ 160 = 80%.

In Gabie

Gabie’s yield board ranks open value by traffic. Scout only hunts faces with sellable capacity in the next 28 days.

Every empty face is money you already spent.

Sign up free for your first 100 faces, or bring three open faces and we run Scout on them while you watch.
