Sources: SignDash's homepage, its terms, a September 2024 interview and a February 2024 listing. BillboardPlanet's homepage and Quantum page. The Blip link is from a Billboard Insider report. The poll is from Billboard Insider. "Not listed" means the pages we read do not mention it.
What do SignDash and BillboardPlanet have in common?
Both are built only for billboard companies. Both send proposals or quotes. Both send contracts for a client to sign. Both start with a demo, and neither lists a free trial.
Both also skip one job. Neither lists a way to find new advertisers for an open face. A rep still has to find the buyer.
Readers know both names. In Billboard Insider's August 2026 poll, BillboardPlanet got 10% and SignDash got 9%. The article does not say how many readers voted. A poll shows what readers use. It does not rate quality.
What is the main difference?
SignDash is small on purpose. Billboard Insider's August 10 post called it simple and popular with smaller billboard companies. It covers the sales desk: a dashboard, proposals, contracts, reports and a website plugin.
BillboardPlanet Quantum is wide. The same post grouped it with Apparatix as a more complicated system with more capabilities. Its page lists the full cycle, from inventory to install work orders, proof and accounting links.
So ask what hurts most. If it is slow proposals and paper contracts, look at SignDash. If it is work orders, proof and joining your other systems, look at BillboardPlanet.
How do the prices compare?
SignDash posts a rate. BillboardPlanet posts none.
SignDash's terms, last changed June 18, 2026, say the base fee is set when you register. It is based on the use you expect. Use above that costs $250 a year for each extra block of 100 faces, unless a separate agreement says otherwise. You prepay. Either side can end the deal with 30 days' written notice. Its homepage says users are unlimited. See SignDash pricing.
BillboardPlanet's Quantum page lists "Three Scalable Options" and does not name them. It lists six add-on modules and prices none. Accounting integration, a third-party CRM link, digital player integration and programmatic are on that add-on list. Ask what is in the base price. See BillboardPlanet pricing.
Say you own 300 faces. SignDash would quote a base fee. You would add $250 a year for each block of 100 you pass. BillboardPlanet would quote the whole package. Ask both for a yearly total in writing.
How do they compare for selling?
SignDash shows open faces while a rep builds a proposal. The rep can email an interactive map of the proposed boards. The contract goes to the advertiser for digital signature. Its September 2024 interview adds a sales funnel tool that rates each rep, and a team feed that updates when a contract comes in.
BillboardPlanet lists a CRM for contacts, from media buyers to end clients. A rep can make an availability report and send a quote that matches the client's final selection. If you already use a third-party CRM, the add-on link can connect to it.
SignDash has the faster path from proposal to signature. BillboardPlanet has the wider links to your other tools.
How do they compare on the back office?
BillboardPlanet lists much more here. It lists print and install work orders that are made and tracked for you. It lists an app for proof photos and a Warehouse Receiving app. It lists lease details on each asset.
SignDash's pages list none of those. They list no work orders, no proof of performance and no lease tools. If you need them, you would add a second system. Ask SignDash which of its tools are live today. Our only source for some of them is a 2024 interview.
Which is better for digital billboards?
BillboardPlanet. Its Broadcast Center can feed campaigns to your digital players. Its programmatic tool manages deals from rate agreements to unit permissions. In June 2025, Billboard Insider reported that Quantum users can offer digital inventory to Blip's self-serve advertisers. Setup was described as minimal.
SignDash's pages list no digital tools. The word "digital" there refers to signing a contract.
How do they compare on QuickBooks and accounting?
Billboard Insider reported in September 2024 that SignDash had built a link to QuickBooks Online with Intuit. SignDash's homepage does not mention QuickBooks. Ask SignDash whether the link is live and whether it works with your version.
BillboardPlanet names SAP and Peachtree on its Quantum page. It says Quantum works with any accounting software through an API or exports. It does not name QuickBooks. QuickBooks was a top answer in Billboard Insider's 2024 poll, so ask about it.
How do size and support compare?
BillboardPlanet's homepage says it has more than 20 years in the industry. It also says it has over 50 developers and support staff in 5 countries. It gives no count of customers or users.
SignDash's homepage gives no customer count either. It says its tools are being used by OOH companies across North America. Its FAQ says it serves clients in the United States. Their advertisers must be in the United States or Canada. Ask each vendor how many owners your size use the product today.
Which is easier to start with?
Neither has a self-serve signup or a free trial in its pages. SignDash offers a free demo, booked through a form or a calendar link. BillboardPlanet offers a presentation and demo, or a contact form. SignDash lists a short set of tools, so there is less to learn. Quantum is a full system, so expect a real rollout. Ask who loads your faces and live contracts, and how long that takes.
Which fits a 300-face owner?
Take Riverbend Outdoor in Jackson, TN. It has 300 faces, two reps and a part-time office manager. Its deals come by phone.
If Riverbend's pain is slow proposals and QuickBooks Online invoices, SignDash fits. If its pain is crews, proof photos and a separate accounting package, BillboardPlanet fits better. If Riverbend adds LED faces and wants programmatic buyers, the Blip link matters.
What should you ask both vendors?
Ask the same questions, and get the answers in writing.
- What is the yearly price for my face count? What is extra?
- Who loads my faces and live contracts, and how long does it take?
- Does my QuickBooks version work with your link?
- Can I see a real proposal and a real contract from a customer's setup?
- Can I get all my data out if I leave?
Pick SignDash if
- You are a small US owner and your deals come by phone and referral.
- You want proposals that show live open faces, and contracts sent for signature.
- You want a QuickBooks Online link and unlimited users.
- You want your boards and a map on a WordPress site.
Pick BillboardPlanet if
- You need install work orders and a proof photo app from the same vendor.
- You want accounting links, Power BI reports or a link to your CRM.
- You have digital faces and want programmatic tools and a Blip link.
- You want lease details on each asset.
What does neither one do?
Neither lists a way to find new advertisers. SignDash helps you close the deal in front of you. BillboardPlanet runs the deal once you have it. For static faces, someone still has to find the buyer and send the first email.
