SSP (supply-side platform)

An SSP, or supply-side platform, is software that offers a screen owner’s ad time to many programmatic buyers.

SSP stands for supply-side platform. It works for the seller, the media owner. Buyers use a DSP.

The IAB-led DOOH glossary notes that DSPs show buyers the exchanges and SSPs they can buy from. The SSP links a screen’s open time to those buyers.

In OOH, Place Exchange describes its SSP as a way to open media owners’ inventory to programmatic buyers. Sellers set rules for price and which ads can run.
