Cost per point (CPP)

Cost per point (CPP) is what one rating point costs in a market, used to compare schedules.

OAAA defines CPP as the cost of exposure equal to one rating point in a defined market.

Divide the schedule’s cost by its GRPs or TRPs. OAAA best practice is to work out CPP from those GRP and TRP levels.

Formula

CPP = schedule cost ÷ GRPs (or TRPs)

Example

A four-week Riverbend poster package costs $12,000 and delivers 200 GRPs. CPP = $12,000 ÷ 200 = $60 a point.
